Friends Don't Let Friends Miss World Dance Day
Do you love dance?
Do you love watching performances?
And taking mini-dance classes?
Outside on a beautiful day?
All for free?
Yes. Yes. Yes you do.
This once-a-year event, Philly's own World Dance Day celebration, comes to us this Sunday (April 26th) at the Piazza at Schmidt's, one of our city's coolest venues.
The festivities begin at 12:00 PM.
From 12-1, watch as an amazing variety of Philly dancers take the stage - from Hip Hop to Belly Dance, Salsa to Modern, Flamenco to Tap.
From 1-2, get up and dance! Take *free* dance lessons from many of the performers themselves! Stick with one class the whole time, or rotate to get a taste of a few!
Grab a bite to eat (and a drink?) from one of the many restaurants and shops that surround the Piazza, and relax again for another hour of performances.
The greatest thing about this event is that it's a gift. There is no charge to watch the performances, no charge to take the classes, no charge for an unforgettable experience. The 954 Dance Movement Collective, run by Keila Cordova, organizes this annual event, all at no cost. It's an unbelieveable opportunity for all of Philly's dancers and dance-lovers alike to come together and celebrate the beauty and diversity that exists on Philly's own dance floors. Every year, I leave inspired and rejuvinated.
The forecast is beautiful, and the dancers will be too.
You can get more details, and view incredible photos from last year at the 954 DMC World Dance Day webpage.

Go show your support for the Philly Dance community, and be wowed by the talent this city's got. See you there!
